BMI Calculator

Body Mass Index is a simple screening measure — not a full picture of body composition.

BMI doesn't account for muscle mass, frame size, or body composition. Use it as a rough starting point, not a diagnosis.

How it's calculated

BMI is weight divided by height squared (kg/m²), or weight in pounds divided by height in inches squared, multiplied by 703. It's a simple ratio, not a measurement of body composition.

How to use your result

Treat it as a rough starting point for a conversation about your overall health, not a verdict. Track it over time alongside how you feel, sleep, and perform in training.

Common mistakes

Treating BMI as the whole picture. Two people with the same BMI can have very different body compositions — one carrying more muscle, another more fat — and BMI alone can't tell them apart.

When to talk to a coach

If your result surprises you, or you're planning a real training or nutrition change, a coach can put the number in context with your actual body composition and goals.
